Optimization Guide
FrameForge enhances your gaming experience through targeted, low-risk system-level tweaks. No overclocking, no kernel-level patches.
Registry Optimizations
The most impactful changes FrameForge makes live inside the Windows registry.
Fullscreen Optimizations (FSE)
The GameConfigStore registry key controls whether Windows applies its own FSE layer on top of your game. FrameForge sets the correct per-game overrides automatically.
Game Mode Priority
FrameForge ensures the active game process is properly tagged in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\GameBar.
DWM Sleep Interval
FrameForge lowers the Desktop Window Manager sleep interval while a game is running, reducing input lag by up to 3-5 ms in windowed mode.
Process Management
When a supported game process is detected, FrameForge raises:
- I/O Priority -
High(reduces hitching from background disk activity) - CPU Scheduling -
Above Normalpriority class - Timer Resolution - Global timer resolution is set to
0.5 ms
Raising timer resolution globally can slightly increase CPU power consumption. On laptops, FrameForge only applies this tweak when the device is plugged in.
Automatic Revert
When the game process exits:
- All registry keys are restored to their original values
- Process priority is released
- Timer resolution reverts to Windows default
No cleanup step required from you. FrameForge handles everything in the background.
